Charlie Ransford has worked closely with Gary Slutkin and Cure Violence developing policy since 2004.  As the Director of Science and Policy, Charlie is responsible for advancing the theoretical basis for the Cure Violence Health Approach and building and leading a national effort to create a health sector framework around violence prevention.  Over the years, he has been involved in many aspects of Cure Violence including data and evaluation, strategic planning, communications and dissemination of the model nationally and globally – including authoring several papers on the Cure Violence health approach.  Charlie frequently presents Cure Violence policy initiatives, findings and results at national and international conferences and has authored several papers on a health approach to violence prevention.

A graduate (MPP) of the Harris School for Public Policy at the University of Chicago, Charlie was named a McCormick Leadership Fellow and a Bowman Memorial Fellow.
