Links between traumatic family violence and chronic pain: Biopsychosocial pathways and treatment implications.

Chronic pain is a common symptom among adult survivors of family violence. Indeed, it may be one of the most commonly occurring symptoms. This chapter explores the role of biopsychosocial factors in trauma and pain. It also offers a model for treating patients who have experienced family violence and now suffer from chronic pain.
