The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently featuring a FREE violence prevention course, Principles of Prevention.
This course covers violence prevention, the burden violence places on society, and effective prevention efforts. Professionals working to stop violence from ever happening are invited to attend and learn how to move from the problem to the solution.
Among other information, this course teaches the key concepts of primary prevention and the public health approach to preventing five types of violence:
- Child abuse and neglect
- Intimate partner violence (IPV)
- Sexual violence
- Youth violence
Participants will learn the fundamentals of effective prevention methods and come away with a better understanding of the growing body of research on what works. An interactive learning environment will feature:
